Christel Millard Mahan, 87, of Rossville went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 19, 2014.  She was a native of East Prussia Germany and had lived in the Chattanooga and Rossville area since 1948, becoming a citizen of the United States in January of 1949.  She had worked as a secretary at Bryan Hosiery Mills for five years and had worked as a line supervisor at Cutter Laboratories for twenty nine years.  Mrs. Mahan was currently working for Chattanooga Coin and Stamps for the past thirty years.  Her passions in life were her family and friends, her trips to the beach, her dogs Patrick and Alfie, her cats, crocheting, cooking, and enjoying life.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Archie Millard and Jim Mahan.
Survivors include her daughters, Nena Lane of Chattanooga and Carlene Godfrey of Athens, GA; brother, Peter Wolf Hart Spill of Germany; two grandsons, Tony (Karen) Godfrey and Derek (Lauren) Godfrey; and two great grandchildren, Adrian Arana and Taylor Godfrey.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 1:00p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Roger Carnes officiating.

Interment will follow in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 11a.m. until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
