Rev. Ralph Henry Mattingly, 91, of Rising Fawn, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 in a local hospital.
A native of Knox County, Indiana, he had been an ordained minister for the Church of the Nazarene and was a graduate of Trevecca College. Rev. Mattingly served congregations in several states and was instrumental in the construction of several churches. He retired in 1986 following 36 years of ministry, and at that time, was pastor of the Fairview Church of the Nazarene in Rossville. Mr. Mattingly served as chaplain at Hutcheson Medical Center for many years and was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents, John A. & Fayvilla Mattingly, six sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Audie Carter Mattingly; son, Larry Mattingly of Rising Fawn; daughter and son-in-law, Janice & Bill Ingle, Seattle, Washington; four grandchildren,five great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at the Fairview Church of the Nazarene with Rev. John Cannon officiating. Burial will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
