Carolyn Louise Swaney, 81, of Chattanooga passed away Monday, February 13, 2017.  She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area where she was a 1953 graduate of Chattanooga Valley High School.  She worked in the 1970-1980’s at Rope and Leather Company in Chattanooga making saddles.  Her passions in life were her family, her dogs “Missy and Butch”, music, and playing the piano.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Swaney; parents, A. and Louise Hixon; and sister, Elizabeth “Liz” Cross.

Survivors include her children, Elizabeth Swaney, Mary Ellen (Eric) Boyd, Calvin (Heidi) Steele and Susan (Robert) Stewart; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3:00p.m. in the South Crest Chapel.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00p.m. until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
