Dallas “Bushman” Collins, 68, of Rossville went home to be with the Lord at his residence on Monday, July 17, 2017.  He was a native of Knoxville, TN and had lived in Rossville for most of his life.  Bushman was one of the best heavy machine operators having worked for Steins Construction, Talley Construction, and Brown Construction.  He was a member of the Union local 917 since 1976.  His passion in life was his family.  He enjoyed working in the outdoors in his garden, working with his cows, and going on wagon rides on Sunday afternoons led by his horses Bart and Spec.  Bushman also enjoyed walking in the woods picking out sticks to make picture frames, knives, and walking sticks and collecting walnuts for his homemade stain.  He loved his dog Buddy Lee and his late Chihuahua, Rocky.

He was preceded in death by his dad, William Herbert Collins; mother, Melzola Collins; 7 brothers and sisters; and his best friend, Ronnie Hatfield.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Wilma Collins; daughter, Rhonda (Herbert) Williams of Rossville; son, Dallas Ronnie Collins, Jr.; Rossville; grandchildren, Samantha Moore and Jesse (Megan) White; step-great granddaughter, Delilah Binkley; and two great grandchildren on the way; five brothers and sisters, Dora Williams, Lonnie (Shirley) Collins, Danny (Dorothy) Collins, Brenda (Michael) Branch, and Mary (Rodney) Chance; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Eddie Sweet officiating.

Interment will follow in the Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 4-8p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
