Earl Clair Rhue Jr., 75, of Rock Spring, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017 in a local hospital.

 

Mr. Rhue was born in Washington, D.C. on June 30, 1942 to the late Earl Clair Sr. and Marie Rhue and has lived in the Rock Spring/North Georgia area for the past ten years. Earl proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam, having received the Merit Unit Commendation in 1963 as well as the Armed Forces Exp Med GCMDL (First Award) in 1964. He retired in 2003 from the Washington Metro Transit Authority following 25 years of service as a supervisor. Mr. Rhue also served as Post Commander of V.F.W. Post 2562 in Wheaton, MD for two years. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother, Bond Rhue.

 

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Margaret Hope Rhue, sons, Matthew (Holly) Rhue and Robert Rhue and his girlfriend, Kristin Superczynski, grandchildren, John Ryan, Jillian, Walker, Cooper and Kennedy Rhue and sister, Susie George.

 

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
