Edna Hughey O’Neal Bell, 89, of Chattanooga, formerly of Chatsworth, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Bell was born in Chatsworth, Georgia on May 28, 1928 and has resided in the Chattanooga-North Georgia area for several years. She retired from Stanley-Judd for over 20 years. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, sewing, and, most importantly, taking care of her family. She will be remembered for being the sweetest, kind-hearted and special mother and friend that anyone could ever have.

She is preceded in death by her special mother, Bell Gibson, brother, Frank Hughey and two half-brothers, Herbert and Felix Graham.

Survivors include her daughters, Gloria (Gary) Muller, Sharon (Larry) Brodie, Anita Morgan and Carolyn (Jerry) Potter, seven grandchildren, Robert (Kara) Demos III, Christopher (Lisa) Brodie, Timothy Brodie, Jessica Craig, Jeri (Stephen) Voiles, Lindsey Niedergall and Jason Potter, eleven great-grandchildren, Robert (Kara) Demos IV, Chelsea Brodie, Chloe Brodie, Chase Brody, Tayven Brodie, Alex Morgan, Allisa Shafer, Nicholas Shafer, Victoria Craig, Gabrielle Shafer and Elliana Niedergall.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 5, 2018 in the South Crest Chapel. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens South.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 4, 2018 and on Friday from 12:00 PM until the service hour in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
