Frank Gray, Jr.

 

James “Frank” Gray, Jr., 74 of Ooltewah went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 25th, 2017.

 

He was a native of North Brainerd, was a 1961 graduate of City High School, and had lived the past 20 years in Ooltewah. He retired from Combustion engineering/Alstom Power in 2003 with 36 years of service. Frank served in the US Air National Guard during the Vietnam era. He was a member of the Chattanooga amateur radio club where he was known as KC 4 T V. Frank enjoyed flying radio-controlled airplanes where he was a member of the Chattanooga RC Club and he also enjoyed volunteering at the Chattanooga Salvation Army. He was a member of Bayside Baptist Church and a member of the Son Worshippers Sunday school class. Frank was a man of integrity and his passions in life were God, family, enjoying the outdoors, camping, photography, HAM radios, and flying radio-controlled airplanes.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents Frank Gray, Sr. and Frances Gray.

 

Survivors include his loved and cherished wife, Karen Gray; two daughters, Janet Allen (David) of Murfreesboro, TN and Annette (Nakia) Thompson of Chattanooga, TN; two sons, Mark Fenstermaker  of Atlanta, GA and Brad (Amanda) Fenstermaker of Ringgold, GA; brother, Wayne Gray of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Kymberly, Ashley, Hailey, Jared, Blake, and Olivia; aunt, Virginia Johnston; uncle, Vernon Cox; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loving friends.

In lieu of flowers  donations may be made to the Bayside Baptist Church Building Fund 6100 Hwy 58 Harrison, TN 37341.

 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 29th at 3pm at the Bayside Baptist Church with Pastor Eric Stitts officiating.

 

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1-3pm at the church.

 

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
