Gertrude Stone Dabbs, 89, of Lookout Mountain, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at her home.

She was born on November 10, 1927 to the late James Franklin & Thelma Voiles Stone and spent her entire life in the West Brow Community of Lookout Mountain.  Gertrude was a lifelong member of the West Brow Holiness Church and was known for her great culinary skills, especially her coconut cake.   She was a true friend and prayer warrior to everyone.  Mrs. Dabbs was preceded in death by her husband of seventy years, Reburn Dabbs, grandson, Sylvester Dabbs, granddaughters, Judy Gioconne’  & Jackie Burson, and brother, James R. “Buck” Stone.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Junior & Orateen Dabbs, Lumpkin, GA, Gary & Teresa Dabbs, Lookout Mountain, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Jim Johnson, Chattanooga, TN; sister, Ruth “Suby” Clark; brother, Marvin Stone, both of Lookout Mountain, GA; six grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Brother Mark Finlayson officiating.  Interment will follow in Lake Hills Memorial Garden, Trenton, GA.
