Hughie T. Gipson, 86, of Rossville, GA passed away June 4, 2017 at a local hospital. Hughie was born in Louisville, KY and spent most of his life in the North Georgia/Chickamauga area. He served as a medic in the US Army before working with Chattanooga Foods and Kayo Oil Company during the 1970’s. He enjoyed playing bingo, taking care of his “babies” Tiny, Tater and Molly, and was of Christian faith. Mr. Gipson was preceded in death by his son, Donald P. Gipson, parents, David and Dora Gipson and his sisters and brothers. Survivors include 5 sons; Hughie (Sherry) Gipson, Jr., Gary (Cathy) Gipson, Robert (Rose) Gipson, William (June) Gipson and Kenneth (Angela) Gipson, 7 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Lakewood Memory Gardens South. Arrangements by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of Historic Mission Ridge, Rossville.
