Joseph E. Lands, 71, of Rossville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at his home. He was a native of Alabama, had lived several years in Elkhart, Indiana where he met his wife, and had lived most of his life in Rossville. He and his wife owned and operated Lands Bakery in Rossville for 44 years. He participated in the Walker County Stockings Full of Love each year and he enjoyed restoring his 1955 T-Bird. Mr. Lands collected lunch boxes, western memorabilia, 45 records, and old toys. His passion in life was making sure everyone was happy. He enjoyed knowing that his product was loved and his customers were extremely satisfied. He looked forward to each day cooking and fellowshipping with his customers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rubin and Bertia Lands; and sister, Shirley Williams.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Sharon Lands; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Gaylon Lands of Dacula, GA; step-mother, Nellie Lands of Rainsville, AL; granddaughter, Stacie (Eric) Beagle of Auburn, GA; two great grandsons, Camren and Troy Beagle; brothers, Rubin (Patricia) Lands, Jr. of Noble, GA and Fred (Lynn) Lands of Elkhart, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 12 noon in the South Crest Chapel with Officer Bruce Coker and Christopher Paradise officiating.
Interment will follow in the New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery in Rainsville, AL.
The Family will receive friends Wednesday from 4-8p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
