Joseph "Fred" Cagle

Joseph “Fred/Baldy” Cagle, 87, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024. He was born and raised in the South Chattanooga area by parents, Bradis and Ruth Cagle.

Fred attended Louis Sanderson Elementary School and East Side Junior High.  He was a member of New Haven Fellowship Church.

He retired from Mohawk Industries after 35 plus years of service.  Fred loved being outdoors and working with flowers.  He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and was the owner of Brothers Lawn Care service.  Fred also had a special place in his heart for children with special needs. 

Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Bradis and Ruth Cagle; 2 sons, Tim and Monty Cagle; 2 sisters, Verdie Melford and Ester Maxwell; and 1 brother, Cecil Cagle.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Susan (Shannon Brown) Cagle, four grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren; one brother, Junior (Emma) Cagle; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members; and a special family friend, Sue Long, who gave great care, love and friendship to the family for many years.

A chapel service will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, April 22, 2024, with Pastor Stacy Powell.  Interment will follow at TN-GA Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 22, 2024, from 10:00am-12:00 noon.
