Julia Ann Woody, 77 of Rossville went home to be with the Lord on December 6, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a lifelong resident of the Ringgold and Rossville areas. Mrs. Woody retired from Rossville Middle School as a Parapro in 2010 with ten years of service. In her early years she owned and operated a beauty shop in Ringgold. Her passions in life were her grandchildren, her children, making porcelain dolls, and washing dishes. She was a loving, caring, kind, and giving lady who will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Woody; and parents, Ed and Ollie Mae Poindexter. Survivors include her children, Lorri Carroll, Julie Santora, and George Woody, all of Rossville; sister, Alice (Eldon) Schooley of Flintstone; three brothers, Eddie (Annette) Poindexter of Atlanta, Bill (Rosa) Poindexter of Ft. Oglethorpe, and David (Jody) Poindexter of Flintstone; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Condolences may be sent to www.lane-southcrestchapel.com. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Gary Graham officiating. Interment will follow in the Dailey Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 5-8p.m. and all day Saturday at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
