Phillip “Phil” Larrimore Ryan, Sr. 79 of Rossville, Georgia passed away peacefully in his home on November 26, 2017.

A native of Trenton, Georgia and a graduate of Dade County High School, Phil served in the United Sates Air Force as a navigator. He lived for many years in Cleveland, Tennessee and was active in numerous civic and social organizations. He was named Cleveland’s Outstanding Young Man of 1965. Phil also served as President of the Cleveland Jaycees, Exalted Ruler of the BPOE Elks Lodge 1944 and was a member of the Lions Club.

Phil had a long career as a manufacturer’s representative in the heating and air conditioner industry in East Tennessee and North Georgia. He was an avid golfer and sports fan, particularly of Volunteers Football.

 

Phil was proceeded in death by his father and mother, Omer H. Ryan and Bonnie Wheeler Ryan Wallace, and his stepfather, James C. Wallace.

 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Cathleen Ryan of Rossville; brother, Barry Ryan (Carryl) of Chattanooga; daughter, Robyn Ryan (H.B.) of Tulsa, OK; sons, Phillip Ryan, Jr. (Emma) of Hammond, LA, and Scott Ryan (Crystal) of Knoxville; brothers and sisters in law, Laura Gough, Ray Duke, Paulette Prather, Randy Duke and Russell Duke.

Phil dearly loved and was very proud of his grandchildren, Abigayle Ryan Neel (Allen), Kincaid Ryan, Tabor Ryan and Jake Ryan, and his nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, December 12th at 2:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.

 

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
