Sue Wilson

Sue Carroll Bargainer Wilson (Mama, Granny, Mama Sue), 80, passed away early Thursday morning, April 18, 2024, in Lookout Mountain, GA surrounded by her family.

She was born November 21, 1943, in Prattville, Alabama to Samuel Robert and Ruby Carroll Montgomery Bargainer.  She was the youngest of six children.

Sue was a widow for 36 years and fully devoted to her children and grandchildren.  She loved nothing more than to cook a homemade meal for her family while they sat around her kitchen table.  She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and growing blueberries for her family to enjoy every summer.  Sue also loved taking her kids and grandkids to Fort Morgan for vacation.

She worked in the Labor and Delivery Dept at Shelby Medical in Alabaster, Alabama for twenty years.

Sue was selfless, generous and a hard worker.  She was fiery and strong and all who knew her loved her.  Sue was adored by her family and a great example to her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Ken (Leah), Kevin, Ashley (Keith) and Shannon (Jason); seven grandchildren, Will, Madison (Weston), Mallory, Molly Kate (Aaron), Jack, Elisabeth and Daniel; and two great-grandchildren, Harrison and Emma.

Sue told her family, “Sing no sad songs for me, I have loved well and have been loved well”.  She will be missed beyond words.

Her family will have a private graveside service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Jacksonville, Alabama.
