Thomas Allen Browning Sr., 79, of Ringgold, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Browning, a native of Ashville, N.C. was born on May 20, 1938 to the late A.O. and Gladys Browning. He retired as a supervisor from Textile Rubber Co. of Dalton with 20 years of service in the shipping/receiving department. Mr. Browning was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed spending time with his family and making yard decorations out of metal. Mr. Browning will always be known for being an outspoken person and for his practical jokes. He was preceded in death by his son Thomas Allen Browning Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Sue Browning, daughters, Candice L. (Gene) Hunt, Susan Porter, Etta Faye Murray and Patricia Elaine (Tim) Maharrey, son, Michael Daughtery, eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Shelton Cemetery, Sale Creek, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday, December 16, 2017 in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
