Thomas C. Carlson, 70, of Rossville, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017 in a local hospital.

Thomas, a native of Gary, Indiana was born on February 13, 1947 to his parents Rudy and Georgiana Carlson. He was a 1965 graduate of Wirt High School in Indiana. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and achieved the following medals: National Defense Service, Combat Infantrymans Badge, Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Air Medal and Two Overseas Service Bars. Thomas was of the Christian Faith and enjoyed playing golf, watching football and baseball. His life-long dream came true when his Chicago Cubs won the World Series. He also enjoyed reading, being a frequent visitor to the local library. His greatest desire was spending time with his wife, daughters and granddaughters.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary D. Carlson, daughters, Samantha (Bobby) Johnson and Georgiana (Chris) Clary, granddaughters, Piper, Melissa and Camille Clary and little “O” on the way, brothers, Warren and Charlie Ahlgren.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Tim Millsaps officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
