Willie Albert Thurman, 72, of East Ridge, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 23, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Thurman was born in Spring City, Tennessee on February 2, 1945 to the late Lewis and Sarah McCurry and has resided in the East Ridge area for several years. He was a member of Ringgold Church of God for the past 5 years and was retired from Mohawk Industries in Fort Oglethorpe where he was a tufting operator. Mr. Thurman enjoyed working in his garage and loved to fix things and staying busy. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by three sisters, Lou Hancock, Wilma Mosley and Evelyn Terry.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Jean Thurman, daughters, Cindy (Greg) Partin, Sarah (Kenny Buttner) Bennett, Vivian (George) Judzewitsch and Janet Brislan, son, Steven Langston, sister, Vivian McNabb, 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 26, 2017 in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Carol Allen and Bro. Ron Ingram officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens – South.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
