Wilma Jo Reed Patty, 85, of the Boynton Community in Ringgold went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 31, 2017.  She was a lifelong resident of the Burning Bush and Boynton communities and spent several of her retired years living in Green Valley, AZ.  Wilma Jo was a 1949 graduate of Ringgold High School and she retired in 1988 from General Electric as Secretary in the Electrical Engineering Department with over 35 years of service.  She was a member of the Burning Bush Baptist Church where she served as Pianist for ten years, and she had been the Pianist at Boynton Baptist for twenty years.  During her time in Green Valley Wilma Jo attended Amado Baptist Church.  She was a member of the Ringgold Chapter of The Eastern Star #245 and her passions in life were her family, playing the piano and organ, traveling, and adopting many cats and dogs over the years.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Sue Reed; her aunt and uncle, Bruce and Betty Cain; uncle, Selman “Bud” Cain, and cousins, Joyce Boehm and Lebron Cain.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, William Roy “Bill” Bryant Patty; aunt, Louise Boehm; cousins, Theresa Boehm Hoover, Gwen Boehm, Otto Boehm, Jr. (Evelyn), Art Boehm (Debbie), Marion “Doc” Cain; Renzo Wiggins, and John Wiggins; “granddaughter”, Maryia Mazhei Cox (Jason); “great grandson”, Ryan Cox; lifelong friends, Gwendolyn Brown Jennings (Johnny), special friends, David and Beverly Humphrey, Reba and Ron Massengale, and Roba and Paul Benton; and many more friends locally and in Green Valley, AZ.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 1:00p.m. at Burning Bush Baptist Church with Pastors Rick Bloxton, Dennis McNulty, and David Cox officiating.  Mrs. Patty will lie-in-state from 12:00 noon until the service hour at the church.

Interment will follow in the Burning Bush Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 4-8p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
