Alan Parrigon

Alan F. Parrigon, 87, of Rossville passed away Friday, July 8, 2022 at a local hospital.  Mr. Parrigon was a native of Missouri, had lived in Oregon, Washington, Merced, California for over 30 years, and the past 24 years in Rossville, GA.  He was a 1953 graduate of Merced High School.  He furthered his education at U.C. Berkeley receiving his Bachelors of Arts degree in Accounting in 1957.  He later received his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from U.C. Stanislaus.  Mr. Parrigon began his career with Boeing as a Cost Accountant for 10 years.  The majority of his career he worked as an Accountant with Simpson Paper Company, retiring in 1991, with over 20 years of service.  He was proud to have introduced computers to the corporation and also train employees on how to use this new technology.  Mr. Parrigon was a faithful Catholic who was devoted to his Rosary, and was a member of the St. Gerard Catholic Church in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA.  His passions in life were spending time fellowshipping with family and friends, fishing, and golfing.

 

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Parrigon; parents, Earl and Rose Parrigon; and brother, Kenneth Parrigon.

 

Survivors include his loving wife, Drexel Parrigon; four children, Nancy (Bob) Anders, Robert Parrigon, Sue (John) Dowd, and Mark Parrigon; brother, William Parrigon; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Mr. Parrigon to the St. Gerard Catholic Church.

 

Memorial services will be held Friday, July15th, 2022 at 1pm in the St. Gerard Catholic Church 3049 Lafayette Rd, Fort Oglethorpe, GA 30742.

 

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, GA.
