Alvin L. Walker, Sr.

Alvin L. Walker, Sr., 91 of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, September 30, 2019 in a local health care facility.

Alvin was born in Ringgold, GA but lived most of his life in the Chattanooga area. He retired after 30 years of working for the City of Chattanooga. Alvin loved to fish on the lake, work on cars, and watch NASCAR rooting for his all-time favorite, Dale Earnhardt, Sr.

Alvin was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Rosa Lee Walker; parents, James and Sarah Walker; son, Alvin Walker, Jr.; son-in-law, Eddie Boatfield; and eleven siblings.

Survivors include his children: Patricia (Jim) Barnes, Diane (Marvin) Kilgore, Elaine Boatfield, JoAnn (Jerry) Patterson, Terry (Teresa) Walker; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 2nd, 2019 at 11:30am in the Forest Hills Cemetery with Pastor Billy Vineyard officiating.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 1st from 3:30-8pm in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, Rossville.
