Barbara (Smith) Chapman

Barbara Smith Chapman passed peacefully into Heaven on November 10, 2020 in Winter Springs, Florida.

Barbara was born April 17, 1940 in Chattanooga Tennessee to Fred and Eunice Smith. She graduated from Central High School in 1958 and the University of Central Florida in 1977. Barbara successfully balanced family and a 30-year career as a real estate Paralegal. She taught her children to believe in themselves, say “yes” to adventure and take risks. She enjoyed travel, golf and visiting her grandchildren who she adored.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Wood; Parents, Fred and Eunice Keith Smith; Sister, Jimmie Hall; Brother-in-Law, Thomas Hall, Sr.

Barbara is survived by her children, Angela Chapman and Michael (Joi) Chapman; Grandchildren, James Chapman, Brenna Chapman, Joshua Chapman and Michaela Chapman; Nephew, Marty Hall and Niece, Beth Mares

There will be a reception for family and friends on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Lane Funeral Home South Crest Chapel, 833 Chickamauga Ave, Rossville, GA 30741 from 12:30-2pm. Graveside services will follow at 2:30pm at Lakewood Memory Gardens West, 3809 Cummings Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37419.
