Barbara Grant

Barbara Grant, 81, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Chattanooga, TN. Barbara grew up in Rossville, graduated from Rossville High School and then married her husband, Bernard and lived in the Chattanooga Valley and Rossville areas.

Barbara worked in the clerical field for several offices in the Chattanooga area.  Her passion was running and enjoyed many 5k’s. She was a member of the Scenic City Friends, Chickamauga First Baptist Church and loved volunteering at Park Ridge East Hospital. Barbara was also very active with her Sunday school class and helping with senior adult activities in her church. She enjoyed her friend group known as the “Domino” ladies.

She is preceded in death by her parents, A.G. and Margie Harris.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 62 years, Bernard Grant; daughter, Wendy (Steve) Gibson; granddaughter, Clair (Zack) Smith; great grandchildren, Ezra Schoeffel, Alley and Owen Smith; sister, Judy (David) Terry; several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Services will be held on Wednesday November 15, 2023 at 11:00am in the chapel. Interment to follow at TN-GA Memorial Park. 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday November 14, 2023 from 11:00 – 2:00pm and 5:00 - 7:00pm.

A special thanks goes out to the nursing staff of Memorial Hospital and Hearth Hospice for all the wonderful care given to Barbara and her family.
