Barbara Slaten Turnure, 78, of Rossville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 5, 2018 in a local healthcare facility.

Mrs. Turnure was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on October 11, 1939 to the late Howard and Mary Slaten and has been a life-long resident of the Chattanooga/North Georgia area. She was a graduate of Rossville High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed working with crafts and will always be remembered as being a sweet, loving person who loved God and her family. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sister, Jeanette Ship.

Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Garmon Turnure, son, Jim (Amy) Turnure, grandchildren, Claire Turnure, Katy and Ally Finley, brother, Howard (Sandra) Slaten Jr.,  and sister, Judy (Larry) Potter.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Ray Mabe officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
