Benjamin C. “Ben” Pettitt, 81, of Ft. Oglethorpe, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018.

A native and lifelong resident of the Rossville area, Mr. Pettitt was a member of Glory Road Baptist Church and was retired from Norfolk-Southern Railroad following 38 years of service.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Ruth Pettitt, and sister, Elizabeth Pettitt.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Joyce Pettitt; son, Benji Pettitt; daughter, Marti (Reid) Sweeney; grandchildren, Cody Pettitt & Eve Sweeney; sister, Mary Ruth Allen; brother, Robert “Buck” Pettitt.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15th from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
