Betty Bishop

Betty Joy Bishop, 86 of Rossville, passed away Tuesday, January 7th, 2020 in a local healthcare facility.

Betty was born, raised, and lived her entire life in Rossville. She graduated in the 1950 class of Rossville High School and was a dedicated member of the Spring Creek Church of God . Betty enjoyed spending time relaxing in her home and most of all spending time with her family.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Esther Mattox; son, Steve Randall Bishop; and brother, John Mattox.

Survivors include her children: John Byron Bishop, Deborah Joy Bishop, and Anna Maria (Shlomo) Ashkenazi; grandchildren: Grace Burgos, Avery Ashkenazi, Eli Ashkenazi, Kellie Burgin, and Sarah Shrader; 4 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 9th at 12pm in the Spring Creek Church of God at 1005 Spring Creek Road East Ridge, TN with Pastor Bennie Mills officiating. Interment will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 4-8pm in the South Crest Chapel and Thursday from 11am until the funeral hour at the Spring Creek Church of God. Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, Rossville.
