Billy Joe Ellis

Billy Joe Ellis, 82 of Flintstone, passed away Sunday January 26th, 2020 in a local hospital.

Billy graduated in the 1955 class of Chattanooga Valley High School and received a football scholarship to play at GA Tech. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Local Iron Workers Union #704. Billy retired from Billy Joe Ellis Floor sanding and finishing after 35 years of service. In his free time, Billy enjoyed fishing, where he broke several fishing records, and playing all kinds of sports.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Myrtice Ellis.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Myra Jo Proctor Ellis; daughter, Debra (Gary) Storie; grandchild, Craig (Mercedes) Storie; two special cousins, Donald McDaniel and Rodney Pierce; and many other cousins.        

Funeral services will be private at the Lakewood Memorial Gardens South.
