Bobby Eugene Burke, 70, of Rossville GA, lost his battle with Cancer on Thursday, March 7, 2019.
Bobby was born on December 20, 1948 in Chickamauga, GA. He lived most of his life in the North Georgia area. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War as a Cook. Bobby worked 25 years with TVA as a Civil Engineer Inspector. He loved going skating at the Fort Oglethorpe Roller Coaster Skate World; his favorite place to go after returning from his military service. Bobby met his sweetheart, Frances Ann Hickey, while hanging out at the Rossville Shoney's. Bobby and Frances loved taking long motorcycle rides; cruising the highways and countryside.
He was deacon of his church, Wallaceville Baptist, where he helped with Children's Church and Vacation Bible School. He was a man that would help someone in need at a moment's notice.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Burke and Ollie Faye Burke.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Frances Ann Hickey, of Rossville, GA; son, James Preston Burke of Rossville, GA; daughter, Erica Shavon (Raun) Alley of Dunlap, TN; sister, Brenda Fay Phillips of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, Aiden Phoenix Burke, Colby Zane Mickel, Layla Ann Mickel, and Randall Evan Alley; two nieces, three nephews and a host of friends.
Graveside services will be held, Tuesday, March 12th at 1:30pm in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors and Pastor Charles Bray officiating.
