Brenda Joyce “Sissy” Bales, 72 of Etowah, TN passed away Tuesday, October 12th, 2021 in a Knoxville hospital.
Sissy was born in Chattanooga, TN, graduated from Kirkman High School, and was of the Christian faith. She worked for many years in the textile industry, but spent most of her career as a seamstress at FLR Hosiery. Sissy enjoyed going to yard sales, antiquing, reading romance novels, working puzzles, and solving crossword puzzles. She was most known for her crochet work and her family will cherish the blankets that she made for them. Sissy’s love for her family was only dwarfed by her love of coffee. She was loving, caring, and had a great sense of humor
Sissy was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, George Bales, Jr.; parents, Luke and Dorothy Stevenson; and siblings Lucas, Patsy, and Wayne Stevenson, and Penny Brown.
Survivors include her children: George “Robby” (Beth) Bales and Laura (Christopher) Lancaster; grandchildren: Seth, Autumn, Madison, Mayleigh, Summer, Karter, and Ayverie; one great grandchild, Malachi; siblings, Teresa (Jonathan) Lambert and David (Diane) Stevenson; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 2pm in the South Crest Chapel.
