Harry “Bud” Nave, 92, of Rossville, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018 with his family by his side.

 

Mr. Nave was born in Stevenson, Alabama on October 10, 1925 to the late Otis & Ruth Cloud Nave and was a member of McFarland United Methodist Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps as the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was in active duty in Okinawa during WWII and served in the reserves during the Korean War. Bud worked for and later became co-owner of Hubbuch Glass Company in Chattanooga. He spent over 40 years in the glass business as a Glazier, superintendent and owner. Bud loved golfing and proudly scored 2 hole in ones at the 12th hole at Battlefield Golf Club. He was a huge Tennessee Vols and Saint Louis Cardinals fan. He gave generously to his church and various charitable organizations.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Nave; brothers, George, Harold, Kenneth, and Doyle Nave; sister, Marlene Logan, Brothers in law, and Sisters in law, and several nieces and nephews.

 

He leaves to cherish his memory; daughters, Diane (Randy) Brittain & Deborah (Trip) Finney; son, David (Rhonda) Nave; grandchildren, Aaron (Molly) Brittain, Laura Finney, Nick (Lupita) Finney, & Katie Brittain; great-grandchildren, Amos Brittain, Ellie Brittain & Isabella Finney; brother, Lawrence (Carla) Nave; sisters, Myrt Cooley and Anna Ruth (Ozzie) Hughes, and other dear family members. Several nieces, nephews. Many will mourn his passing and miss his presence.

 

Funeral services will be held 12:30p.m. Wednesday at McFarland United Methodist Church with Rev. Ginger Isom officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

 

Expressions of sympathy may be shared at lane-southcrestchapel.com.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to McFarland United Methodist Church, 101 E. Gordon Ave., Rossville, GA  30741.

 

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
