Burrell Lavender departed this life on December 7th, 2018, and entered into Heaven to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He ran a good race, he fought the good fight, a good and faithful servant. He was a longtime member of Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church and had served there in many ways, including Sunday school teacher and deacon. He was loved and respected by all who knew him, he touched many lives. He worked many years for Burlington Industries and later working several years at Ridgeland High School.
Born September 26, 1934, in Rossville, Georgia, Burrell was preceded in death by wife Ruby, parents, Joe and Nannie and sister, Mary Lavender.
Burrell is survived by his niece and caregiver, Jane (Vance) Boone and several other nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Dr. Michael Wilson and all the staff at Parkside nursing home, his roommate buddy Bob and special friend Lloyd.

Funeral services will be Monday, December 10th, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at the church.
Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
