Charles Butts, Sr.

Charles William Butts, Sr. 62 of Chickamauga, GA passed away Saturday, December 4th, 2021 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Charles was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and moved around the US working on oil and water wells before settling in the Chattanooga area. He owned and operated his own automotive business for 15 years called, American Rebel Automotive, and he loved his job. Charles also did work for Southern Wheels Magazine in a section called “Pop’s Garage” which gave advise on how to fix antique cars. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his family in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Charles was a lighthearted jokester who loved to make others laugh and smile.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Nellie Butts; aunt, Peggy Butts; and grandparents, Leona and Larry Holtzinger.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Leigh Butts; children: Charles Butts, Jr., Scott Butts, Jason Butts, and Tony Gresham; grandchildren: Ashley Brown, Susan Butts, and Shauna Butts; siblings: Brad, Donald, Jeff, and David Butts, Margaret Foster, and Sandy Keyes; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 18th, 2021 at 12pm in the Wallaceville Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
