Tribute

Mr. Charles Leonard Cofer, 73, of Chickamauga, GA went to be with his Savior on Sunday, January 23, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.  Charles was born on May 16, 1948 to the late Mr. Charles E. Cofer and Mrs. Rosie Lowe Cofer.

Charles was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather.  He was a   graduate of Rossville High School class of ’66.  After high school, he served in the United States Navy and graduated from UTC with a degree in electrical engineering where he later taught. Charles retired from teaching at Chattanooga State Community College in 2008.

He developed and taught training programs for large companies in the Chattanooga area including DuPont, Tennessee Valley Authority, Tennessee American Water Company, and Wheland Foundry. After retiring from Chattanooga State, he went on to write and orchestrate training programs for various nuclear power plants across the Eastern United States.  As busy as Charles was, he found time to coach little league basketball for his son’s team and stayed involved in his grandchildren’s activities because his family always came first. Many who knew Charles will remember him for his intelligence and wisdom, quirky sense of humor, and his big heart especially for those in need.
