Damon L. Stegel passed away at a local Health Care Center, Thursday, December 26, 2019.
He was originally from Oak Hill, West Virginia and after four years with the United States Air Force, he resided in Chattanooga for 55 years. Damon was a long time employee with Combustion Engineering for over 45 years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Damon was preceded in death by his parents Louie and Evelyn Stegel; devoted wife Claudia Stegel, and three brothers Roger, Gary and Eugene Stegel and sister, Brenda Nester.
He is survived by three step-sons and their spouses Sam H. and Kat Epperson of Okinawa, Japan; William Barkley and Rhonda Epperson, Flintstone; H. Bradley Epperson and Bill Willard of Atlanta; two sisters, Connie Ferguson and Anna James; six grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening, December 29, 2019 from 2- 5 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
A private burial will be in North Carolina.
