David Thomas Storey

David passed away peacefully at home on May 23, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.  David’s memory will be cherished by his devoted wife of nearly 60 years Juanita Barnes Storey, his blessed children; Mike (Angelia) Storey, Ringgold GA, Teresa (Michal) Wells, Rock Spring GA, and Libby (Jay) Kennedy, Ringgold GA and grandchildren, Sabrina Storey, Brittany (Taylor Hall), Mitchell and Meredith Kennedy, great grand-children; Lily Storey, Eric Hall, Zachary Storey; adored sisters-in law, and several nephews and nieces.  He was predeceased by his parents M.A. & Leatha Storey, brother Eugene Storey, brothers in law and special niece.

David was a 1957 graduate of Rossville High School and went on to a 43 year career in the glass industry working for Chattanooga Glass until it closed then on to Anchor Glass Container in Warner Robins Georgia until 2001. 

In life David enjoyed coaching Mike in various sports.  In baseball he helped lead the 13-14 year-old team to victory in the 1975 Dizzy Dean World Series.  David made sure that his girls knew and loved sports, a pastime that his family would always enjoy together.

David was of the Baptist faith.  As a member, deacon, Sunday School teacher, and Discipleship leader at First Baptist Church Lakeview in Rossville Ga, and a devoted member at Central Baptist Church in Warner Robins GA before returning to his beloved First Baptist Church Lakeview.  In David’s faithful Christian walk he not only showed many the way to Jesus but also how to live a life pleasing to our Heavenly father.

A celebration of his well lived life will be held on Wednesday, May 27th, 2020 at 1pm in the First Baptist Church Lakeview, 10 Hudson Street Rossville GA 30741 with his precious pastor Patrick Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in the Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11am until the funeral hour at the church. Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, Rossville.
