Dennis Carroll Tackett, 69, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2012 in a local hospital.

He was a native of Cartersville, Georgia but had spent the greater part of his life in the Chattanooga area.  Mr. Tackett was employed as an Iron worker for many years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Tackett, parents, Cleveland & Jeanette Tackett, and brothers, Clyde & Harold Tackett.

Survivors include his daughter, Janet Lynn Tackett; his companion of seventeen years, Betty Mann; sisters, Karen Tackett and Betty Joyce Tackett; step-children, Ricky & Reginald Pursley; grandchildren, Ashley Hope & Marcus Lebron Tackett.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Mike Freeman officiating.  Burial will follow in Overlook Cemetery, Flat Rock, Alabama.
