Donnie Mooney

Donnie Mooney, went home to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his loving family on September 24, 2023.  He was born on February 10, 1941 in Sewanee, TN.

He served his country proudly for 4 years in the United States Navy.  Donnie then worked for and retired from Peerless Mills in Rossville, GA. 

Donnie loved fishing and camping, cheering for the TN Vols, playing cards, traveling and his precious yorkie, Cricket.  He was a member of Canaan Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Oma and Preston Mooney and one sister.

Donnie is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Beverly Mooney; children, Laura Rogers and Donald Mooney; grandchildren, Lacey, David, Katelin, Cassie and Gracie; several great grandchildren; siblings, Dale (Pat) Mooney, Lonnie Mooney, Linda (Lonnie) Tant and Dorene (Fred) Ladd; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 10:00 am in the South Crest Chapel.

Interment will be at Chattanooga National Cemetary following the service.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 28th from 4:00 – 8:00pm at Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, South Crest Chapel in Rossville, GA.
