Douglas Gene Chapman

Douglas G. Chapman, 55, of Chattanooga passed away Friday, April 29, 2022 at a local hospital.  Mr. Chapman was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area.  He worked for over 20 years with Goodwill on Dodds Avenue, retiring in 2007.  Mr. Chapman loved trains.  He enjoyed going “train chasing”, reading all kinds of train magazines, learning the local train schedule, and watching train videos.  Mr. Chapman was known as a generous man with a kind and loving heart.  He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Louise Chapman.

Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Deanna and Michael Beckett; lifelong friend, Jimmie Hurst; uncle, Billy Stephenson; and several cousins.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his cousins/caregivers, Jeanette, Brandie, and Michael for their love and care for many years.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2022 in the South Crest Chapel.

Interment will follow in the Lakewood West Memory Gardens.

The family will receive Tuesday from 5-8p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, GA.
