Earl Thomas Simmons

Earl Thomas Simmons, 92 of Rossville, passed away Wednesday March 18th, 2020 at NHC of Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga.

Earl was a member of Salem Road Baptist Church and a proud US Army veteran. He was a former employee of the Chattanooga Gas Company with 40 years of service. Earl played for Chattanooga Gas Company’s softball team, “The Chattanooga Flames” for many years. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing, but his passion in life was his family especially spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Simmons; parents, John and Stella Simmons; and 7 siblings.      

Survivors include his son, Mike (Theresa) Simmons; his adored grandchild, Shannon (Todd) Mirabella; two great grandsons, Nic and Connor who he always shared fishing and baseball stories; and several nieces and nephews.

Military funeral honors will be held on Monday, March 23rd, at 12:15pm in the South Crest Chapel.
