Edith Scales

Edith Scales, 93, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018 in Cleveland, Tennessee.

Mrs. Scales was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on March 6, 1924 to the late Albert and Mary Sanders. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Luther Scales, 2 brothers, Charles and Damon Sanders; 3 sisters, Ruby Scales, Rebecca Crisp, and Edna Gamble. Mrs. Scales was retired from Signal Knitting Mills after 31 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her family and organized family reunions, reading, loved flowers, and going to yard sales. She was a member of the Canaan Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Larry (Reva) Scales; grandchildren, Amanda (John) Hegeman and Rachel (Jordan) Metzger; great grandchildren, Victor Hegeman, Julia Hegeman, and Lincoln Metzger, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11:00a.m in the South Crest Chapel. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 4p.m. – 8p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday 9a.m. until the funeral hour. Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
