Edna “Tootsie” Watts, 80 of Ft. Oglethorpe passed away Monday, May 27th, 2019 in her home surrounded by her loving family and friends.

 

Edna was born in Chattanooga, raised in middle Tennessee, but lived most of her life in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and served as church treasurer for several years.  Edna worked for a number of years at the Rossville Mills and for over 20 years at Burner Systems, Inc. During her time at Burner Systems, Edna was the Union steward, treasurer, and president of AIW local #613. In her free time, Edna enjoyed shopping yard sales, church sales, and thrift stores.  She was also a very talented seamstress having made clothes for her children and grandchildren. Most of all Edna enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

 

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley B. and Eddie Mae Hodge.

 

Survivors include her children: Kim Cofer, Bert (James Stidham) Cofer, and Tuck (Susan) Watts; grandchildren, Tucker Watts, Jr. and Sydney Watts; sister, Debra (Larry) Skelf; several nieces and nephews, and many close friends.

 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 30th at 1pm in the South Crest Chapel. A private interment will be held in the Lakewood Memory Gardens South.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11am-8pm in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
