Ernest “Ernie” Neal, Jr. 73 of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA passed away Wednesday July 25th, 2018 in his home.
Ernie was a resident of the North Georgia and Chattanooga areas and was a 1963 graduate of Kirkman High School. He was an Air Force veteran and brilliant mechanic who enjoyed working on cars. Ernie retired from Kroger where he was named “the best store manager this town has ever seen” and was also store manager of Golden Gallon, Pruetts, and Goodlets. He was saved by faith in 2010 and was of the Baptist faith. Ernie loved God and his family with all his heart.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents Ernest, Sr. and Mary Neal. He is survived by his children, Tony (Cheyenne) Neal, daughter, Deborah (Tim) Willoughby, and step-son, Virgil Zeigler; grandchildren, Stephen Neal, Jacolyn Carden, Kimberly (Dustin) Townsend, and Nathanial Zeigler; great-grandson James Gregory; nephew, Billy (Dorothy) Cline; and grand-dog Bella.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 28th, 2018 at 2:00pm at Mission Ridge Baptist Church located at 337 Mission Ridge Road, Rossville with Pastor Ted Verville officiating.
Inurnment will be held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery at a later date.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 27, 2018 from 2-8pm in the fellowship hall of Mission Ridge Baptist Church. Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
