Frank Parker, 94 of Flintstone, passed away Monday, March 16th, 2020 in a local healthcare facility.
Frank was born in Davidson, TN and joined the US Navy at a very young age. He was a WWII veteran and participated in the battle at Normandy. Frank travelled around the South for many years coal mining in Kentucky, well drilling in Florida, and boiler making in Tennessee. He was a hardworking man who made sure his family was always taken care of. Frank was also a proud member of the American Legion Post #95.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Parker; grandson, Allen Venable; sister, Ruby Dodson; brothers, Bud Parker and John Parker; step-son, Calvin Templeton; step-daughter, Janice(Jim) Bowman; and nephew, John Lee Parker.
Survivors include his children: Carl (Dana) Parker, Valeria (Judy Johnson) Parker, and Pamela (Rev. Robert) Venable; step-daughters, Pamela (Larry) Palmer, Sheila Templeton, and Terry Morrison; grandson, Matthew Venable; several step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday March 20th at 12pm in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Robert Venable officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Hills Cemetery with military funeral honors.
