Fred A. Linam, 93 of Fort Oglethorpe, passed away Tuesday, January 1st, 2019 in a local healthcare facility.
Fred was born in Cleveland, TN and spent most of his life in the North Georgia and Chattanooga area. He was of the Baptist faith, loved to hunt and fish, and served in the U.S. Navy. During WWII Fred was a Coxswain aboard an LST663 in the Pacific and he had a deep love for his family. He worked 36 years at Ernest Holmes and10 years at Century Wrecker.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Linam; parents, Earnest Linam and Elmira Morgan Linam; 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
Survivors include his children, Randy (Dianne) Linam and Sandy (Tim) Moore, grandchildren, Brandon (Britanie) Moore, Bob Linam and Bridget Moore, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 5th, 2019 at 2pm in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. David Hall & Jason Haney officiating.
