Gary Dale Masterson

Gary Dale Masterson, 72 of Rossville, GA went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 20th, 2022.

Gary was born and raised in the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas. He graduated from Lakeview High School and was a proud US Navy veteran. Gary was a member of Lakeview First Baptist Church for 22 years and also attended Woodland Park Baptist Church. He worked for Kleen-A-Matic for several years and also in the electrical trade with IBEW local #175. Gary earned his associates degree at the age of 47 to pursue a career in IT and worked for Gateway Bank and Trust as their IT Director for 10 years before retirement. He was highly active in church teaching Bible studies and several other classes. In his free time, Gary enjoyed fishing and competitive sports. He was the Captain of the Lakeview Warriors Baseball Team in 1968 and also participated in tennis, basketball, and racquetball. Gary was a jack-of-all-trades, meticulous, eager to learn, and had a wry sense of humor. He was not afraid to ask the hard questions, but he loved his family dearly and will be remembered for his love and dedication to his grandchildren.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Wade Masterson and Nell Brewer; and sister, Linda Bailey.

Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Debi Masterson; children: Nick Masterson, Eric (Mandy) Masterson, Jennifer (Josh) Parker, and Becky (Brad) Nance; grandchildren: Emry, Ella, and Everett Masterson, Brantley, Braden, Beau, and Bennett Parker, and Bre Parks; brother, Roy (Kay) Masterson; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 23rd, 2022 at 1pm in the South Crest Chapel with Dr. Leroy Spinks and Pastor Patrick Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in the Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4-8pm and Friday from 11am until the funeral hour in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, Rossville.
