Mr. Gerald Sanford Taylor, age 67, of Atlanta, GA, passed away May, 5 2019 in Marietta GA. at a local hospital.
Gerald was born in Chickamauga, GA and spent most of his life in the North Georgia and Atlanta area. He graduated from Chattanooga Valley High School in 1969 and then attended the Southern Institute of Technology where he studied Architectural Engineering Technology. Gerald was a 1973 charter member of the Xi-Chi chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon International fraternity at Southern Technical Institute in Marietta, GA. He held several leadership offices and was a highly respected member of the Alumni Association. Gerald was employed as an Architect associate by Hewell Architectural firm of Roswell, GA for over 30 years. He was an avid music collector and an immense Georgia Tech and Atlanta Braves fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Parks and Lois Taylor.
Survivors include his brother, Steve (Joy) Taylor of Soddy Daisy; sister, Christy (Dan) Bible of Maryville; nephews, Ben Taylor, Michael Bible; niece, Lindsay Allsbrooks and honorary niece, Emily Lewis; and step-mother, Mona Miller Taylor of Ringgold.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 9th, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Jim Bennett officiating. Interment will be held at Lakewood South Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be George W. Galloway, James Tuck, Abdul Hafeez, James Wascher, David Hansard and Benny Folsom.
