Glenda Haggard

Glenda Haggard, 66 of Ringgold, passed away Monday, July 6th, 2020 in a local hospital.

Glenda was born in Dalton, GA and lived most of her life in East Ridge, TN. She was of the Baptist faith and worked for over 20 years supporting the donation efforts of the AmVets and Shriners. Glenda loved taking care of her beloved dog, Casey, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, watching true crime shows, cooking, and hosting dinner parties. She was very passionate about our veterans and served them with honor. Glenda was the matriarch and “momma” of her retirement community, her door was always open for her friends, family and neighbors. She was selfless, generous, and always served others before herself.

Glenda was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Haggard; parents, Gene and Glendora McHan and Sewell (Mary) Thompson; sisters, Gloria Horton and Debbie Powell; and son-in-law, Adam Baines.

Survivors include her daughters: Starr (Blake) Gaston and Leah (Tony) McDaniel; son, Ronnie (Carrie) Thompson; grandchildren: Cole (Sierra) Gaston, Conner Gaston, Isaac McDaniel, Shayla Thompson, and Madisyn Thompson; great grandchildren: Arwyn and Olive Gaston; siblings: Carl (Penny) Thompson, Richard (Anna) Thompson, David Thompson, Mark Thompson, Betty (Ray) Scott, Jeanette Edmondson, and Vickie Love; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 9th, 2020 at 2pm in the Lakewood Memory Gardens South with Nathan McCoy officiating.

The family will receive friends, Thursday from 11am-1:30pm in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, Rossville.
