Harley “Tennie” Smiddy, 76 of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2020 in a local hospital.
Harley was born in Knoxville, Tennessee and worked for Advance Paper Company as a truck driver. He was a member of Temple Bible Methodist Church for 45 years. He graduated from Central High School in Knoxville, TN and attended Hobe Sound Bible College in Florida. Harley was also an avid NASCAR fan, cheering on Bill and Chase Elliott.
Harley was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Smiddy Davis; parents, Harley and Faye Smiddy; and brother, Larry Smiddy.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Linda Smiddy; son in law, Jerry (Paula) Davis; grandsons, Sam Allen Davis and Noah Wade Davis; niece, Valerie (Jason) Arnold; nephew, Brian Smiddy; beloved aunt, Della Chapman; and several cousins.
Funeral services will be 1pm Tuesday in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Davis and Rev. Carson Scarbrough officiating. Interment will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
