Harold J. Hartley

Harold J. Hartley, 94 of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA passed away Wednesday, May 17th, 2023.

Harold was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN and spent the last 60 years in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA. He was of the Christian faith and retired from Long Pontiac after many years of service as a mechanic. Harold was an avid flower gardener, enjoyed bird watching, and listening to the Gaither’s sing Gospel music. As a young man, Harold enjoyed racing cars and throughout his life enjoyed watching NASCAR and cheering on his favorite driver, Tony Stewart. He was a sweet, quiet, down to Earth man who will be remembered for his beautiful Christmas lights and decorations. Harold you are dearly missed and deeply loved.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Blanche Hartley and son, Brent Hartley.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Barbara Hartley; children: Jimmy (Dorothy) Hartley, Anita Cranfield, Susan (Mike) Stiefel, and Jeff ( Liu) Hartley; grandchildren: Jonathan Cranfield, Candy Chenkus, Jeremy Stiefel, and Rachael Roden; several great grandchildren; brother, Clyde Hartley; several nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Roddy.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 22nd, 2023 at 10am in the Woodstation Cemetery, Ringgold, GA, with Pastor Jeff Brown officiating.
