Hubert Alan Goins

Mr. Hubert Alan Goins, 70, of Chattanooga, TN, went to be with the Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 15, 2023.  Hubert was born in Chattanooga, TN on January 29, 1953 to the late Mr. Clarence Goins and Mrs. Mary Cline Goins.

Hubert was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, TN.  He was a caring man who was always ready to help with his last dollar or a listening ear.  Hubert loved to play video games, was a talented artist, and worked for many years for Choo Choo Customs.  When Hubert wasn’t busy being Poppaw to his grandchildren, he could be found drinking coffee on the porch and watching the birds and feeding squirrels. Hubert’s ability to make everyone feel like family, his sense of humor, and kind hearted soul will surely be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Hubert is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers; Clarence Arlee Goins, Jr., and Emmett McKinsley Goins.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mrs. Darline Frizzell Goins, his son, Keith Alan (Melissa) Goins, daughter, Mary Ann (Andy) Simms, grandchildren: Bailey Elise Goins, Cassidy Morgan Simms, Kinsley Nicole Simms, Carson Andrew Simms, and Parker Dylan Simms, and sister, Peggy Plemons.

A funeral service for Hubert will be conducted in the chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory South Crest Chapel on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 2pm with Carolyn Beadle officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Harrison Cemetery, Harrison, TN.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 2-8 pm and again on Monday from 11 am until the service hour.
