James Riley Huckabee, 86, of Chattanooga, Tennessee went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, July 27, 2021.  He was at his home surrounded by his loving family.  Riley was born March 20, 1935 in New Hope, Tennessee to Rosa and Marion Huckabee.  He retired from Coca Cola after 45 years of service.  Riley was a faithful member of Battlefield Baptist Church.  He never met a stranger and was loved by everyone that met him.  Riley was a talented musician and used that talent to spread the gospel across the country.  He loved to tell jokes and always had something funny to tell to make people laugh.  Riley was a man of his word, loyal to the end, and unwavering in his love for the Lord and his family.

He is preceded in death by his father (Marion Huckabee) and mother (Rosa Huckabee), Houston Huckabee (brother), Willie Blevins Bishop (sister), Harold Huckabee (brother), Jerry Huckabee (brother), Joseph Wayne Huckabee (brother), Thomas Richard Huckabee (brother), Mildred Jean Huckabee (sister), and Merrill Dean Huckabee (brother).

Riley is survived by the love of his life of 64 years, Rebecca Huckabee, daughters, Tami (David) Crane, Pam (Willis) Massingale, son, Rick (Beth) Huckabee.  Grandchildren: Mary Beth Huckabee, Tracy (Michael) Long, Rachel (Miguel) Gonzalez, Jordan (Kayci) Crane.  Great Grandchildren: Dyana Elsea (Tristan Beddington), Eden Crane, Cannon Crane, Emilio Gonzalez, Maddie Long, Mikey Long, sisters Magdalene Higdon and Nelda (Sam) Whited and many special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, July 29 from 4:00 until 8:00 at Lane Funeral Home & Crematory and Friday, July 30 from 1:00 until 2:00 at Battlefield Baptist Church.  Funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 at Battlefield Baptist Church, 178 S Cedar Lane, Ft. Oglethorpe, GA with the Rev. David Crane and Rev. Sam Whited officiating. Burial will be at the New Hope Cemetery in New Hope, Tennessee.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Hearth Hospice and our wonderful hospice nurse, Valerie Daniels for the exceptional care that they provided for dad over the last few months.
